Excellent Claypot rice with salted fish & meat patty. Best in South Bay. The lotus Chinese cucumber veggie dish was above average. Prices are extremely reasonable. It's a family run restaurant with very friendly wait staffs.

We love going to this place whenever my wife feels like Chinese food. I'd say my fav items are the stuffed eggplant while my wife's is all the egg dishes. It's great in person and also to go.

I had such a wonderful experience at this Chinese restaurant! The staff was incredibly sweet and accommodating, especially to my elderly mother. They took our order at the table and even brought the food to us, which made the visit so much more comfortable. My mother has been here many times because of the great service, and I can see why. We're absolutely hooked on their wonton chips and sweet and sour sauce--they're delicious and a great alternative to fast food. Recommend this spot for the exceptional service.

Frugal Wallet Deals. Very impressed. First visit. Tiny family style place with lots of tables and chairs close together. Traditional and old place. It's probably been in Milpitas forever. Not huge. Good location in quiet area. Fast and efficient staff. Old vibes with excellent chef. Good marinades and cut ups/choppings. Each bite was quality food. Everything tasted delicious and very good for a Chinese restaurant takeout place. Cheap prices and just too good. Great wide selections on menu. For lunch, you can have a delicious entree with rice, soup and/or salad for under or around $10. Not bad. I ordered from the 3-items takeout menu that comes with rice and soup. Excellent choice. They had my order ready within 15 minutes. Awesome. Credit cards accepted. Lady speaks some English and mainly Mandarin-Chinese. Ordered number 34-salt pepper fish fillet (not overly salty), number 15-Shanghai style sweet and sour spareribs (excellent, love the special sauce), and number 26-chicken with hot garlic sauce (very tender). Excellent taste. Well coated with sauce. Tender meats. Not too salty was a bonus. We never order Chinese takeout foods around here for the past two decades. This place deserves some recognitions for good chef. Best bargain in town for Chinese foods. My total with taxes was $31.66, and I still tipped a few more dollars today for takeout. During recession and high inflation times, these older traditional Chinese restaurants aren't bad at all. You want good foods for your wallet bucks. Will be coming back for more. Very satisfied. Tastes as good as it looks. Didn't they used to have dim sum here many years ago? Same place for sure. I just wish that they would upgrade the interior or have larger spaces inside. Food pieces were a bit smaller in size than expected. Takeout boxes were good in quality. Not messy. Good packing. Short staffed. Chinese takeout foods are very good tasting here.

Great and really affordable food! This restaurant has a large menu and serves a variety of dishes. The food is definitely worth it! The place overall seems not as high-end as other restaurants in terms of cleanliness or manner, but that doesn't take away the food and the price of it. Highly recommend trying this place!

China Rose serves very good Chinese food at reasonable price. The service was good. Our server was attentive and answered questions about items on their menu. English isn't their first language but she got assistance from the manager or owner if she couldn't understand our question. The ambiance is basic with pictures of their signature dishes on the walls. Beef chow fun - 5/5 The beef was tender and there was no bean sprouts, but shredded cabbage instead. The chow fun noodles were fresh with the perfect firmness and not too soft or mushy. The chow fun was very good with flavors of a seasoned wok. I would order the beef chow fun again. To go order - Mapo tofu - 5/5 & Chinese broccoli - 3/5 The Mopo tofu was excellent. Not too spicy and very savory. The majority of the tofu in this dish did not fall apart. A definite winner! The Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce was too hard and crunchy for my mom. I tried it and it was a little undercooked. It could have been cooked a little longer for the perfect tenderness vs hard crunch. It may be China Rose's way to prepare CHinese broccoli. If you order the Chinese broccoli at China Rose, be sure to let your server know how you would like your Chinese broccoli cooked. China Rose is a very good restaurant that prepares good Chinese food. Give China Rose a try.

Economical, no frills Chinese food. China Rose is located in the Foothill Square Shopping Center in a quiet residential neighborhood of Milpitas. After seeing some pictures posted by several Yelpers recently, I decided to check them out on 08/06/2022. The owner was taking a phone order when I walked in at 5:45 pm. There were only a few customers either dining in or waiting for their takeout. The interior was clean and bright with simple decorations. The vibe reminded me of a neighborhood family restaurant. I ordered two sets of their 3-dish family meal ($25.95 cash/$27.95 CC), plus a dish of Shredded Pork in Hot Garlic Sauce ($10.95). Each set came with rice and hot and sour soup. The total, with tax, was less than $70. Very reasonable in today's economy. Below is what I got: Broccoli Beef - Beef was tender and the broccoli florets were fresh. I loved that they put lots of chopped garlic in the dish. Black Bean Chicken - Surprisingly good. Lots of tender chicken. Not too saucy. Beef Chow Fun - Not good at all. The taste was bland and the noodles were clumped together. Very stingy on the beef. Sweet and Sour Spareribs - Excellent despite the stingy portion (box was half full). They were done Shanghainese style. The taste was very balanced. Shredded Pork and Bean Curd Stir-Fry - Nice, light dish that was not too greasy. Salt and Pepper Fish Fillet - Good. Very crispy exterior. Could use a bit more salt and pepper seasoning. Shredded Pork in Spicy Garlic Sauce - Nicely done dish. Very spicy and garlicky. The portions varied between dishes, but for the price they charged it was expected. Service was very good. The owner and his staff were polite and welcoming. They packed everything neatly and double-checked my order before handed it to me. All things considered, I like this place despite a few misses. The food was mostly good and you definitely can't beat the price. 3.5 rounding up to 4 stars. BONUS MATERIAL: - Cash and major credit cards accepted. - Ample parking on site.
